The best time to visit Bran Castle depends on the atmosphere you wish to experience. For pleasant temperatures, green landscapes and more manageable visitor numbers, choose spring, especially between April and June. Early autumn, between September and the first days of October, also offers favourable conditions, evocative colours and days that are still fairly long.
To avoid queues, plan your visit on a weekday, preferably from Tuesday to Friday. The quietest time is generally early in the morning, close to the 09:00 opening time. Arriving before organised groups allows you to walk more calmly through the rooms, narrow staircases, medieval corridors and the inner courtyard. Monday is less convenient for those who wish to start early, as the castle opens at 12:00.
The months of July and August are usually the busiest because of the summer holidays. During this period, it is advisable to purchase your ticket online and choose priority access when available. Weekends in October can also be very busy due to the legend of Dracula and Halloween events.
